The study aims to offer an up-to-date description and analysis of the extent, structure and development of prosperity in Rhineland-Palatinate. The material dimensions of prosperity such as monetary, productive and property assets are discussed. In addition, immaterial dimensions of prosperity are covered, though to a lesser degree. Immaterial assets include education as part of human capital and claims on the social pension fund and private pension funds. Different data resources are used as they compliment each other. The main resources are the German Mikrozensus, the Einkommens- und Verbrauchsstichprobe and the German income tax statistics.
