The professional advanced training is held by various sides to have a key role for the comprehensive economic and social politics. The recognition of the critical importance of professional advanced training is nothing new. It is therefore even more remarkable that the information basis on the type, range and intensity of professional trainings forms is in such a poor state. The advanced training situation in Germany is statistically fragmented, the existing statistics are frequently incompatible with one another, and terminology definitions are heterogeneous to diffuse. This is especially the case for data at the regional or state level.
This project should produce an informational foundation for the professional advanced training in Hessen, one tightly orientated on the target group specific assistance programs in Hessen, and one that will be continually developed over the course of the ESF Program Period (through the end of 2013). This domain includes information on company-based advanced training, as well as advanced training activities either publicly supported or from individuals. The results of the information system are regional and can be broken down by specific target groups (e.g., older workers, low skilled workers, women, etc.). Within the scope of the Project, these results should be published over an Internet portal for the public. One component of this Project is a census and analysis of company-based advanced trainings activities in Hessen and those by individuals. In addition, an evaluation of the State Program “Qualification Checks” will be performed. An Internet portal for the theme “Information System Advanced Training” will be constructed. The data collection to company-based, individual and publicly funded advanced training is planned to be repeated in order to provide tracking of longitudinal changes.
