Start of the second survey sampling for the Hessen Health Care Worker Monitoring on 22 April 2009
 On 22 April 2009, the second wave of surveying started for the Hessen Health Care Worker Monitoring. Once more, all service providers, as well as vocational, occupational and supplemental training institutions in Hessen were surveyed on the issues of the labour market, employment, and training programs.

Chance 50plus: More Open for Employing Older Workers – Attitudes of Employers in the Region have changed.

Older workers have significantly better chances on the labour market than before the start of the employment program “Chance 50plus”. Roughly half of the enterprises believe that workers over 50 years are employable without limit. Only 9% of the enterprises would hire older workers only when no younger workers were available.

IAB Establishment Panel Hessen Report 03/2008: Company-based Advanced Training in Hessen 2007

The internationalization of economic processes and technological development lead to structural changes in the economy, employment and the labour market in Hessen. This situation requires new adjustment processes to avoid qualification “mismatches”. The present report examines in how far the companies in Hessen are using the possibilities for adaptive qualification of their employees, and whether this will lead to an increase in importance for advanced and further training programs.

IAB Establishment Panel Hessen Report 04/2008: Innovation Behaviour of Hessen Companies 2007

Innovations are nearly universally perceived as a key to growth and employment. Various factors lead Hessen companies to innovation adoption. Besides investment, employment, company size and the company branch, research and development is one of the central components of innovation activities in a company. The qualification structure of personnel and the advanced training behaviour of innovative companies are compared to non-innovative companies to determine the differences between them.

IAB Establishment Panel Hessen Report 02/2008: Personal Development – Focus Point Skilled Labour

The demand in Hessen companies for skilled labour has grown since the beginning or middle of this decade. Various indicators, such as personnel structure, new employment and open positions, point in this direction. Up to now, however, there has been no significant skilled labour shortage to be found, even when the hiring processes for skilled labour has become somewhat more difficult.

Domestic Service Provision in Households of Elderly and Needy Persons in Hessen 
In cooperation with the Hessen Agency, IWAK has determined for the Social Ministry of Hessen the need of elderly and needy persons for domestic service provision in Hessen. The results are now available.

IAB Establishment Panel Report Hessen 01/2008: On-The-Job Training in Hessen 2007
 On the date of the survey (30 June 2007), there were about 2,129,000 persons in Hessen employed in wage labour. Of these, about 107,700 were still in training. This represents an increase in apprentice positions of 5,700 compared to the previous year, and signals a trend reversal in on-the-job training in Hessen.

Final Report on IWAK Study: Branch Monitoring Care in Rhineland Palatinate 2005/2006

Change in the Care Labour Market in Rhineland Palatinate. While in 2003 there was a shortage of skilled labour for many care professions, in 2005 the care providers could cover their personnel needs largely with the existing supply. For many qualification levels and regions, a significant supply surplus can be projected.
